NCIS theories: Gary Cole unmasked as the serial k1 ller in game-changing season 19 twist

NCIS has cast Gary Cole as Special Agent Alden Park in the upcoming 19th season of the popular c***** procedural, but is the new Team Leader really who he says he is?
Rumours have been flying around the CBS drama ever since it was reported long-running lead Mark Harmon would be taking a backseat to the action in season 19. Gary Cole is poised to take his place as the NCIS’s team leader, but a recent theory suggests he could be revealed as a new villain who draws Gibbs out of his forced retirement.
Newcomer Gary Cole could be revealed as the elusive serial k***** Leroy Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) and Marcie Warren (Pam Dawber) have been hunting, a new theory has claimed.
Cole will be joining the cast in season 19 following reports series lead Mark Harmon will only be returning in a part time role going forward.

His character, Alden Park, is widely speculated to become the new Special Agent in Charge in the wake of Gibbs’ suspension.

However, the identity of the my****s cr***** spying on Gibbs and Warren has yet to be unearthed.

With Gibbs’ life on the line following the explosive season 18 finale back in May, the identity of the k******** could be hidden right under fans’ noses.

One imaginative viewer took to Reddit with the theory when another user asked the fanbase their hopes for the upcoming instalment.

“Cole is gonna be the serial k*****,” the commenter claimed.

“Too big of a name to not be either the k***** or maybe some legendary NCIS Agent.”

As a prolific television and film actor, Gary Cole is certainly one of the most recognisable NCIS guest stars to date.

He’s best known for his appearances in comedy films such as Office Space and Pineapple Express, as well as more serious roles in the TV series The Good Fight and Chicago Fire.

Leading the most popular network series in America is certainly befitting of his current star status, and Agent Park could be the new face of NCIS for years to come if he proves popular.

Then again, his upcoming guest role could be just that, and his character’s storyline could come to an end after just one season.
If that’s the case, this theory has proposed Cole’s Alden Park could, in fact, be revealed as the overall villain for the next outing.

In Gibbs’ absence, this fan believes the Washington NCIS would be more likely to bring in someone like Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) to help run the team.

They continued: “I think NCIS would either tap Pride in to help or maybe even some of the LA crew if they could.”

Rather than bringing in a legendary operative to help smooth things over, Cole’s purported role in season 19 might just be a complete misdirect.
However, another fan argued: “Based on press releases, Cole’s character is an FBI agent.

“Not to say he couldn’t be the serial k*****, but that would be quite a twist.”

After nearly two decades on screens, Gary Cole’s speculated secret role as Gibbs’ nemesis could be the twist NCIS needs to breathe new life into the long-running series.

NCIS season 19 will premiere on September 20 on CBS in the USA. A UK release date has not been confirmed.
